At our events we offer the opportunity to get to know like-minded people and to exchange ideas. For this purpose, we offer beginners, professionals or everyone topic-related or just meetings for a cosy exchange and chat. Below you will find explanations and frequently asked questions about our events. You can find the dates for this in the calendar.

Please note: We do not organize play parties and are not a dating agency. We offer help for self-help.

General Event Information

Lesbian and gay city festival 2026 – Help Needed

The 32. Lesbian and gay city festival (also called “Motzstreet Festival”) takes place at Saturday 18.07 and Sunday 19.07.2026. We would like to introduce the topic of BDSM and kink to Newbies, Vanillas and everyone interested again this year. We’ve got a stand and presentation material, but what we really need are volunteers.

So, if you want to talk informally about BDSM with Newbies and other open people – material to break the ice like our patented (or not), totally scientific (or not), absolutely serious (or not) BDSM test included – we would be really grateful if you could give us a few hours of your time. This way you are not only helping to remove the stigma of BDSM, but may even help to allow someone to jump into a more fulfilling sex life, who knows?

No prior experience is necessary to help out at the stand. All volunteers will receive an information sheet in advance with tips and important details. For those who have never participated before, and as a refresher for the veterans, there will be an orientation meetup about two weeks before the city festival.

Berlin Munch

Even in a capital city like Berlin it can still be hard to make contact with like-minded people. Even people who were already outed and have now the wish to meet like-minded people were often found in front of impossibly high walls. Adds or meeting in shady places is nothing for everyone. You just don't know what might happen and thus stay at home and do nothing.

With the regular munches, we want to create a relaxed opportunity to get to know other SMers. Since we know from our own experience how difficult it is for many to venture into relevant SM-bars, we offer all those who are curious the opportunity to meet in a normal place without a dress code. For people who have been there for a long time, we would like to create an opportunity to talk about SM experiences without there being an obsessive "pressure to confess".

We cannot provide therapy, match-making or tips for professional studios. Overall, the focus should be less on SM practices, safety aspects or the difficulties of coming out, rather we want to convey the feeling: "You are not alone", there are still a lot of people in this city whose sexual preferences are a bit ... well, they're different, and they're still pretty normal.

It doesn't matter whether you're lesbian, gay, bi, pan, or straight. The same whether you are a newbie or have years of experience with SM. No one needs to publicly state which side of the whip he or she likes to play on.

Please note:

First-time attendees: It is a good idea to show up early. If you arrive within the first half hour, it will be much easier to find someone to talk to and, if you wish, you will be introduced to those who will be arriving later.
You can speak to everyone who is sitting there. In addition, there are always enough of our “official” contacts around, so that you can be passed on to one of them if necessary. We just don't want to distinguish the newcomers from the veterans with colorful hats.
Even though the meetings are very harmless and take place in public, we ask that you do not bring children with you.
Minors are also not allowed to attend the meetings. We offer minors individual advice; More on this under Frequently Asked Questions.

Who is this meet & greet for?
This is for everyone that has just developed an interest in the lifestyle or people who have been practicing in their own private homes. If you do not belong to either one of these groups, you might be wrong here and might enjoy yourself better at one of the other munches. You are only eligible to attend if you are of age.

The beginners meet & greet (mainly in German) always happens on the first Thursday of each month. Start time is 07.00 pm at the Sonntags-Club.

The Beginners meet & greet is held in German. If you are not proficient enough, just drop us an e-mail so we know to organize an English event.

The beginners' meeting usually takes place on the 1st Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Sonntags-Club; the next date is in the calendar. The Sonntags-Club is at Greifenhagener Str. 28 (city map) and is easy to reach by S-Bahn and U-Bahn (Schönhauser Allee).

Attention, risk of confusion: Opposite from the Sonntags-Club is a café called "Sonntags nie" (Never on Sundays). Anyone looking for us there will look in vain.

What is the difference to a Munch?
The group is smaller and moderated. All participants are new themselves. In a small group it is easier to calmly answer your questions. The munch is a casual meeting and is more for getting to know each other; there is less (or not exclusively) talk about specific questions about BDSM. At the beginners' meeting we are undisturbed in a separate room; the munch, on the other hand, takes place in a normal café.

How many people do you meet there?
Varies, but usually between 5 and 10.

How does such a meeting for beginners work?
After a short round of introductions, during which nobody has to say anything, but everyone can say something (which, by the way, always applies to our meetings ) we give some information about safety (code words, drugs, safer sex, doctors, covers ...), rules (party behavior, personal ads, legal situation ...), media, parties, shops, coming out ...

Whatever you want to know, we will do our best to answer your questions or at least to name a contact person. We also have samples of some books and magazines and a few brochures for you to take away.

What can't we do?
The beginners' meeting is, like the Munch, no facility for relationship search. It serves solely to establish contact with like-minded people and get rid of the most burning questions. We make sure that no one is hit on against their will or questioned about their preferences. Anything that can be dealt with theoretically, we can discuss. We do not offer practical demonstrations there.

Is there a "dress code"?
No.

Does it cost anything?
No.

Do I have to register?
No – just drop by. For those who don't like the idea of turning up there alone, we also offer the opportunity to meet one of us for a cup of coffee in advance (e-mail to info@(this domain) is sufficient).

How do I find you?
In the Sonntags-Club there are always some kind of discussion groups and information events; the people behind the bar are used to it and will send you to us if you make a searching face.

Is it important to show up on time?
Yes. Anyone who shows up more than a quarter of an hour late will not be admitted and will have to wait until the next beginners' meeting. We're serious. If you can't or don't want to show up on time, you're of course welcome at the Munch - that's not an issue there.

This Sonntags-Club is a nice facility, but its website explicitly states that they appeal to homo-, trans- etc. -sexuals. There was nothing to be found of BDSM there.
The problem is that there is simply no such thing as a Sonntags-Club for BDSMers. The Sonntags-Club is bright, spacious, easy to get to, with a quiet back room and we are welcomed with open arms. We do not only address heterosexual BDSMers, but also gays and lesbians. Since our other meetings take place in "normal" pubs, we believe that there should be something for all sexual preferences.

Please be on time for the meeting. Many first timers are shy and insecure. We want to respect that and want to avoid disturbances, so everyone can take their first steps in a safe and confidential environment.

ATTENTION, danger of confusion: right accross from the „Sontags-Club“ is a cafe called „Sonntags nie“. If you are looking there, you wont find us.

If your German is not so bad, you are also welcome at the monthly beginners meeting on the first Thursday of each month. Start time is 07.00 pm at the Sonntags-Club.
